Better than Baba's

I’m not a big fan of pierogis—I just find there’s too much dough. To have the dough stuffed with potatoes just compounds starch upon starch. I know; there are pierogis stuffed with meat and cheese, which is what I have today.
Thick and plump, there’s a lot of substance to these dumplings and it won’t take many to fill you up. Better than Baba's offers several specialties and I have the poutine version, which comes with nice chunks of curds. The gravy tastes competent but a tad light on flavour.
I asked for a side of kielbasa for an injection of meat. Reheating kielbasa requires special care because it can dry very easily. There’s not much fat to this sausage and reheating can readily cause it to harden to liver consistency. Sorry, but that’s what I have here.
The pierogis themselves taste quite good, which is what most people look for. Better than Baba’s? I’m not sure—my Baba’s pierogis are stuffed with pork, pork fat and shrimps—but I'm sure it's better than a lot of Baba's.
