Dairy Delight makes some of the best fast food in the city, period.  They've been around for 22 years and they haven't started cutting any corners because of their long success.

I've been coming here regularly for a couple of years and each time, I walk away thinking that I really enjoyed my meal.  They expertly put everything together and the volumes are considerable.  For that reason, unfortunately, I have never finished a meal here with room left over to try any of the desserts.  Yes, I've had no dairy from Dairy Delight, and I suspect I never will unless I plan to come and skip the main, going directly to the ice cream buckets.

They get quite busy during the lunch and dinner hours.  Fronting and facing St Anne's isn't exactly an idyllic setting but it's a nice enough patio for an outdoor meal.

Like most Greek based, burger outlets with a "dairy" name, the menu features a variety of burgers, hot dogs, fried foods and the Greek touches of gyros, pitas and the ubiquitous Greek salad.

If you go with a salad, the first thing you notice about the Caesar Salad is its enormous size.  Honestly, I don't know how they managed to stuff this much into the box.  It's packed so tightly that it takes on the square shape of the container!

As you can see, it's not all leaves that's crammed into the container; there's no shortage of rich cheese, crispy croutons and delicious sauce.  Even under the goo of the sauce, the leaves and croutons retain their texture and crunch with each bite.  For many, this salad is a meal in itself.  Above, you see the smaller version; for an extra dollar you get the large salad (below).

The Greek Burger comes equally loaded with sauce, which is a mild but wonderful tzatziki.  Take a look at the crisp, fresh, shredded lettuce and the enormous bun!  I'm salivating as I peer at the image.

Check out the beautiful gyro!  The perfectly toasted pita encapsulates a massive amount of roasted beef, huge chunks of tomatoes, all smothered in the tzatziki.  This is one of the best gyros I've had the pleasure of tasting in this city.

The standard Gyro comes with beef; you can also get it with chicken but on the menu, they call it Chicken Pita, rather than Gyro.

The Chicken Burger comes with the same oversized bun as the beef burgers.  The slab of chicken is a breaded, deep fried whole slice of white meat, cooked just right:  moist and crispy.

The Fat Boy burger comes with chilli, mustard, onions, tomato, shredded lettuce and pickles, all within the oversized bun.

Consistent with the generous portions, the oversized bun comes with an oversized beef patty, large enough to cover the entire bun.

Looking at the patty, you see that it's perfectly seared on the outside, crispy and caramelised.  On the inside, the meat retains its moisture and juiciness.  I didn't weigh it but I speculate this to be close to a half-pound burger.  Even at this massive size, I can't get enough of its delicious taste.

It comes with just enough chilli to add a dimension of taste, but not enough to overpower the lovely taste of the beef.

It's not on the menu but you can get a cup of just the chilli.  It's a little runny and quite greasy.  The meat pieces are ground very fine so there's very little texture.  The sauce tastes nice but could use some heavier seasoning (notably light on chilli powder and spiciness).  To their credit though, this chilli is meant to top burgers, hot dogs and fries, not to be eaten straight.

The wonderful fries come perfectly crisp on the outside and moist-tender on the inside.  If you order it with gravy, the dish comes slathered with it.  I hate fries and gravy where there is barely enough gravy to wet the potatoes--no chance of that here!

And if you choose Poutine, you get a ton of cheese added to the goop, but I don't think there's any curds in here.

I've tried pretty much everything on the menu here (except the dairy).  You can't get a bad dish here at Dairy Delight.  Everything comes with the best, freshest ingredients, which are always cooked to perfection.  There's never any shortage of food as the portions are large enough to satisfy the most demanding appetite.

Simply delicious!
